Digital photographic image lightbox transparencies. Milk, paint, found items, toys, foliage, medicine. 2021.

These images examine movement in and across bodies of water. I was influenced by research into migration and how the search for sanctuary (often an act driven by necessity and immense courage) might feel visually. I used found items including toys, foliage, cloth, and spices immersed in milk, paint, and water. The resulting images were inverted in post-processing to be presented backlit on lightboxes or similar.
