James is a photographer, artist, and creative director born in the UK to English and Italian parents. His projects explore the ambiguities of contemporary society including the nature of belonging, food culture, consumption, migration, and cultural identity.
He has made works for notable institutions and brands including The Royal Opera House (London), Rebel Rebel (Australia), Siren Design (London), The Swatch Group (Switzerland), The National Theatre (London), Charleston (Sussex), Boosey & Hawkes, Penguin/Random House, and many individual artists and musicians. He has exhibited at the V&A in London, Hull International Photography Festival, and Home in Manchester and been published in The Observer, The Guardian, The New York Times, SOURCE Magazine, Ain't-Bad, and other media outlets including the BBC. His project Manna garnered critical acclaim from curators at Bloomberg and the New Art Exchange.
James studied Theatre & Visual Arts at Dartington College of Arts and holds a Master's Degree in Photography from Falmouth University. In 2023 he relocated from the UK to Australia.
